Black Stars Head coach James Kwasi Appiah, jabbed with injury concerns is expected to name his side’s new captain a day ahead of the crunchy world cup qualifying match against Uganda in Kampala on Saturday.
Appiah, former Stars defender prior to his crunchy handle which means dearest to the heart of the nation as can determine the country’s qualification to Russia 2018 World Cup,sees hosts of experience and first team players with the likes of Asamoah Gyan(Captain),Andrew Ayew(Deputy Captain),Harrison Afful,Jonathan Mensah and Thomas Agyapong all missing out of action against the Cranes.
The team with all hopes and fingers crossed goes into Uganda’s ‘do or die’ clash with 21man contingents.
The team haven’t participated three(3) consecutive times in the World Cup,making their maiden debut in 2006 will look to redeem their World Cup reputation going into their cliffhanger with the Cranes,as they currently lay third(3rd) on the Group ‘E’ log with 5 points from a possible 12 points.
The Stars presently are expected to land in Kampala by 10:00 pm Uganda time and will have a minor shakeup.
The team will on Friday hold their mandatory training at the match venue before battling the Crandes of Uganda on Saturday.
