Asante Kotoko defender Samuel Abeiku Ainooson, who is on loan at Obuasi AshantiGold has register worry about the ”frequent breaks in the Ghana Premier League.”
The league which mostly last for a period of 6-7 months, has now been played over a period of 8 months and still has four matches to go.
The Ghana Premier league is currently on break and set to resume after the ongoing 2017 Wafu Tournament.
Abeiku who joined the Elephants in the second transfer window is on a mission to salvage a sinking ship but has argued that, the rampant break in the league is a great disadvantage to them as footballers.
“The inconsistency of the league is really affecting us as players “. He told Kumasi based Angel FM.
“The league is now on a three-week break but in football, consistency helps in gaining match fitness, we play a match today and there is a break and it doesn’t help us.” Abeiku lamented.
Ashgold are battling relegation for the second time in two seasons and will bounce back with a fierce game against the Porcupines at the Baba Yara Stadium.
