Asec Mimosas striker Ahmed Toure is geared up and ready for what he describes as a ” tough battle’’ when the Ivorian league 1 leaders welcome rivals Africa Sports who sit third on the log to Stade Robert Champroux on Sunday.
The highly talented attacker tells sportsworldGhana.com exclusively he’s hoping to replicate his impressive form in his first two matches at the club, a performance which has seen him score three goals with two scintillating assists.
The Ivorian giants having won seven [7] in a row will be hoping to register supremacy over Africa Sports in a crucial derby match.
The clash gives the former Ghana Premier League Goal king a chance to take what was a good performance against ASI where he registered his name on the scores sheet on Thursday.
”Asec and Africa Sports fixtures are always big games just like Hearts and Kotoko in Ghana so the expectation remains high going into such a tough game especially when I have scored 3 goals in my first two matches but as a striker it’s my duty to score goals so when the opportunity comes why not I will score” said confident Toure.
He added ”It’s a great feeling playing with Komla Agbeniadan who was in the same league with me last season in Ghana. He really understands the game and knows where to position himself to score goals so i am enjoying his partnership and hope that it continues when we host Africa Sports tomorrow”.
”The fans have been amazing therefore we need to beat Africa Sports to make them feel happy and keep supporting us”
Toure has hit top form since joining the Abidjan based club from Bechem United where he finished the 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League with 13 goals.
