Interim head coach of Ashanti Gold Sporting Club, CK. Akonnor acknowledges he has learnt a lot following his short internship at Scottish champions Celtic.
The former Black Stars captain understudied former Liverpool and Swansea manager Brendan Rogers for three weeks to know the new nitty-gritties of coaching and he believes he has learnt a lot to improve his technical brains on the touchline.
”I can confidently tell you that I’m not the same with what I learnt from there and that is very important. I believe in practical more than the theoretical aspect” Akonnor told Accra based Asempa FM
”Now the important thing is that I will add the knowledge I acquired from there to what i have already, I will combine both because I have my own philosophy”
Akonnor joined Ashgold after the first round of the season and helped them to survive relegation.
