Meanwhile,Ghana midfielder Michael Essien hold the highest transfer fees ever paid for Ghanaian players for what was a club record fee of £24.4 in the summer of 2005 frm Lyon to Chelsea.

The Under-17 international impressed during a two-week trial at the Etihad club having caught the eye of City scouts while playing in a youth tournament in Qatar for Red Bull Salzburg.

Spanish and German champions Real and Bayern also cast admiring glances at the winger, who has been likened to a young Neymar due to his goalscoring prowess and skill on the ball.

But City chief Pep Guardiola has won the race for the teenager, who is now set to be loaned out to a European club to gain first-team experience.
