Ashantigold troll GFA as Ghana league fail to start on 18th December as announced by the GFA

Ghana premier league side Ashantigold SC have reproduced – via the clubs’s official twitter – a press release of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to troll the GFA for the non-commencement of the 2016/17 Ghana premier league on 18th December as the country’s football body announced on its official website on 25th October 2016.

Ashantigold have won four Ghana premier league titles in 1993/94, 1994/1995, 1995/1996 and 2014/15.

The GFA announced that the new season will commence on December 18 and that the PLB -organizers of the league has confirmed the date.

However the actual start date for the 2016/17 Ghana premier league season is not explicitly known as the ordinary congress of the GFA failed to confirm relegated clubs from the 2016 premier league and promoted clubs  that will join the 2016/17 elite football campaign.

The tweet from Ashantigold is a subtle reminder to all that the GFA and PLB have once again failed to live up up to their own words and that there is no way the league will start on Sunday – something that was always expected.
