Ghana’s lightweight boxer Richard Commey was on Saturday crowned the new WBC international lightweight champion after defeating Hedi Slimani at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
Richard Commey increased his winning tally to 25 after the three Judges scored 116-112, 117-113, 116-112 in his favor.
Richard Commey is now looking forward to another World title opportunity after he lost the vacant IBF World lightweight title to Robert Easter Jnr. in September 2016.

His Excellency the President of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo, ex-President Jerry John Rawlings and other dignitaries attended the historical showdown that saw Duke Micah and Frederick Lawson win titles as well.
