Former Black Stars goalkeeper, Abubakari Damba, is of the view that goalkeeper Razak Braimah should be maintained as first choice goalie of the Black Stars team despite failing to command a starting role at club level.
Braimah will be in race for a first choice spot together with Adam Larsen Kwarasey and Richard Ofori who have enjoyed playing time at their respective clubs than him.

Ahead of the Black Stars crunch Russia 2018 tie against the Pharoahs of Egypt on Sunday, Damba maintains the fact that Braimah’s consistency with the Stars gives him an edge over his competitors
“Every coach wants to maintain confidence in the players that he feels comfortable playing. Avram Grant over a period of time has shown that he has so much confidence in Razak Braimah despite all the challenges. It’s about making the player feel important and that he is reliable and you can rely on him to perform” Damba mentioned to Accra based Class FM.
He added ” I’m hoping coaches will be able to do this to bring the best out of Braimah. What we need to also understand is that Braimah has played several games with this team so they have known him over a period of time. I think there will be better co-operation between him and the team than any other goalkeeper,”
