European clubs are already exited with the news of Confederation of African Football (CAF) considering moving African Nations cup from January to June.
Recommendations for the expansion of the biennial continental football fiesta from 16 to 24 teams and also hosting the AFCON final in June and July as previously held in January/February is on top of the agenda as African football leaders met for historic symposium.
Both recommendations were made after a workshop on the future of the tournament that included much of CAF’s leadership, and the decision is expected to be rubber-stamped.
Several European Clubs and Coaches complain about how the AFCON interferes with their plans during the season.
Many top African Footballers have been torn between club and country whenever the Africa Cup of Nations is up for grabs.
English premier league side are happy with the development as they currently have 4 African players namely Sofiane Feghouli, Cheik Kouyate, Andre Ayew and Diafra Sakho.

The proposals from the work groups, and submissions from different stakeholders as collated, would be considered by the CAF Executive Committee at its meeting on Thursday .
A CAF Extra –Ordinary General Assembly will take place at the Hotel Sofitel in Rabat on Friday to take a final decision on proposed issues.
