The national women’s cricket team on Friday, commenced their campaign in the ongoing ACA/NWA cricket tournament in Accra with a 7 wickets win over The Gambia.
Ghana made a stunning comeback in the second innings with a 113runs for 3 wickets in 13.5 overs to overtake Gambia’s 110 runs for 5wickets in 20 overs in the first innings at the oval A.
The oval B hosted the game between Nigeria and Sierra Leone. Nigeria recorded 66 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs in the first innings while the defending champions Sierra Leone amassed 67runs for 8wickets in just 15 overs for their first win.
The T20 format tournament is aimed at rekindling the regional competition and to be the pathway for major championship for the 4 nation event. The tournament runs from today to Sunday
