Kumasi Asante Kotoko Centre back Ahmed Adams has named his all-time best IX he has played with in the premier league with four current Kotoko players which include himself.
The former Berekum Chelsea Centre back was hesitant in spreading over what could be a reflective inclusion of the 16 premier league club players, but includes his former team mates at Chelsea to complete an impressive list.
Lining up in a traditional 4-4-2 formation which is mostly deployed by several Ghanaian tacticians, the former Berekum Chelsea and Norchip FC defender named former Berekum Chelsea shot stopper and current team mate Ernest Sowah in goal with ex-team mates Eric Agyemang and Richard Kissi Boateng manning the right and left backs respectively.
In the Centre pair, Adams placed himself along with Edward Kpodo with Asante Kotoko midfielder Jackson Owusu and Yaw Alexander in the midfield, while former team mate and now TP Mezembe winger Solomon Asante and Gladson Awako are deployed on the right and left wings respectively.
Completing Adams’ best IX features former Great Olympics, Esperance Sportive de Tunis forward Emmanuel Clottey, who finished the 2006/2007 Ghana premier league as top scorer and Abdul Basit leading the attack.
Ahmed Adams rose through youth side of Berekum Chelsea before being promoted to the senior side by then coach Steve Polack, who could simply not overlook the young defender’s promising talent.
He has reunited with the man who made him, Steve Polack, who is currently leading Asante Kotoko to a seeming 24th league title.
Adams has been the Porcupine Warriors pillar this season.
