GPL Week 2 Roundup: Kotoko and Chelsea share spoils, Hearts held by Medeama

Berekum Chelsea were held to 0-0 at the golden city in a pulsating second week fixture by Kumasi Asante Kotoko.

The Blues suffered a humiliating defeat in the first week but failed to fight back in a duel they dominated much of the proceedings.

The home side came close in many of occasions but the opportunities were held well by a resilient Asante Kotoko side who came from a goal down to dump Liberty last week.

Kotoko were not at their usual best as they sat back throughout the encounter to allow the home side to do much of the pressing.

Accra Hearts of Oak failed to make it count in two matches running after they settled for a goalless score line in their first home encounter this afternoon.

The Phobians drew goalless in the first week against Inter Allies but it all the same in this afternoon clash as the capital side misplaced all the numerous chances.

The Miners were resolute in defense and fought restlessly to stop the Phobians from making any inroads. Former Kotoko stopper was the lead man for Medeama SC as his aerial strength masterminded the point.

Ashanti Gold Sporting Club on Saturday beat Accra Great Olympics 3-1 at the Obuasi Len Clay sports stadium courtesy a hat-trick from Hans Kwofie.

Abel Manomey pulled one back for Olympics as a consolation at time when all was lost.
