Hollard Insurance Ghana Limited has presented a package worth GHȼ30,000 to the family of Kotoko’s Deputy Equipment Officer, the late Thomas Obeng Asare who died in the July 12 accident involving the team bus at Nkawkaw.
The presentation was done at the club’s secretariat in Kumasi on Friday. Business Development of Hollard Insurance Ghana, Bruce Gustav presented the cheque for GHȼ30,000 which was received by Legal Affairs Manager, Yaw Boafo.
Last Saturday, the reputable insurance company, which entered into a partnership agreement with Kotoko in 2016, visited victims of the accident at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, where they were then undergoing a thorough re-examination and treatment.
The Hollard officials after expressing their commiserations promised to be back formally to engage Management. Earlier, they had issued a statement, to share the pain and loss of Kotoko. “Hollard Ghana have been grief-stricken as a result of the road accident involving the Team that resulted in severe injuries and the death of Mr. Obeng Asare, the Equipment Manager of the team” said the insurance company.
“We want to use this medium to assure the entire Playing Body and Management Team of Asante Kotoko of our support and commitment to fulfil our promise of compensating, the team with our Group Personal Accident Insurance Policy” it added.
