The management of Asante Kotoko will be holding a final meeting to decide if they’ll partake in the 2017 presidential cup slated for 1st July 2017 between bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak.
A section of the management members of the Kumasi based football club is of the view the current shape of the team acquired by new head coach Steve Polack isn’t prepared enough to face Hearts of Oak in a cup match thus should turn down the request.
According to GHLACA, the organizers of the annual football cup game Hearts of Oak have shown commitments to play in this year’s presidential cup but they are yet to hear from Asante Kotoko the opposing club selected to play Hearts on July 1st 2017.
Kudjo Fiano, the chairman of the Ghana league club Association GHALCA confirmed on Kessben FM they’ve received a correspondence from Hearts reiterating their commitment to the game but yet to hear from the other end, Asante Kotoko.
Sources within the club points out a final meeting will be held by the top hierarchy of the Asante Kotoko leadership on Tuesday to reconsider on the subject matter.
