Accra Hearts gave their title ambition a boost after a 3-1 convincing win against regional rivals Tema Youth in the week 24 of the Ghana premier league at the Accra sports Stadium.
The Phobians have gone nine seasons without a league trophy but gave a message of intent to league leaders WAFA and Aduana Stars while they can wrestle power with this win.
The encounter had to wait till the 29th minutes before Captain Thomas Abbey fetched the first goal from the spot. Hearts were lively throughout the first half with sweet displays.
Relegation-threaten Tema Youth proved while they could cause havoc after recess, depicting exuberance and flair but the supremacy of the home side was the decider.
Kwame Kizito scored in the 56th minutes to silence Tema Youth before Thomas Abbey got his second of the day in the 89th minutes. Joseph Panstil got the visitors consolation in the 86th minutes.
