WAFA SC maintained their top in the Ghana Premier League table after the first round following a commanding 2-0 win over Inter Allies on Saturday in Sogakope.
The Academy boys dominated play from the blast of referee Alex Nsiah’s whistle as expected and scored the opener in the 5th minute through boy Prince Obeng Ampem.
The Eleven is to one side came in strongly and threatened the goal area of WAFA but failed to get penetration through WAFA’s defenders who were very resolute throughout the game.
Ampem secured victory for the host with a superb move to beat in-form goalkeeper Kwame Baah in the 55th minute.
Midfielder Majeed Ashimeru as usual was in a brilliant shape as his magnificent when his splitting pass in the game made it difficult for his markers control the game.
WAFA finish the first round as leaders with 32 points from 15 games, three above second place team Aduana Stars who will play as guest to Bechem United at the Nana Gyeabour Fosu Park on Sunday.
