Black Stars management committee chairman, George Afriyie has indicated that the Sports Ministry’s alleged lack of funds could hinder the team from qualifying to the 2018 world cup in Russia
Money to fund Black Stars activities have been difficult to come by under the current Sports Ministry. George Afriyie however believes that the current situation could be an impediment in the team’s quest to qualify for a fourth successive World Cup.
“The no money syndrome could affect us. We are unable to do a lot of things due to the unavailability of funds. We were supposed to send scouts to Togo to watch a game but we couldn’t because there was no money”
The Ghana Football Association Veep remarked on Asempa FM.
The Black Stars will come up against the Cranes of Uganda on Friday in the first of the 2018 world cup group qualifiers
