Executive Committee Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association Wilfred Osei Kweku Palmer believes Kwesi Appiah is the only local coach qualified to handle the Black Stars.
Just last week, the owner of Tema made his stands clear that the FA going for an expatriate coach would be the best option only to say today that Kwesi Appiah would be the best man for the job judging from the circumstances in which the FA finds itself.
Reports in the media suggest that, the Al Khartoum coach has been reappointed as the new Black Stars coach on a two-year deal.
“If the masses are clamouring for the man (Kwesi Appiah) to be given the job then that is what it is because by evaluation or whatever assessment we have done, if you come up with a candidate, it means that person has gone through the mill and been certified as the rightful person to assume the role.” Prmer said.
“Unless your judgment is wrong but under our circumstances and what we want to do as a federation he is best coach available.”
Kwesi Appiah guided Ghana to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil where they failed to make it to the second round.
