Ghana’s senior national team [Black Stars] held their first training in Accra Wednesday afternoon ahead of the Gabon 2017 Nations Cup.
Assistant coach Maxwell Konadu and fitness coach Jamie Lawrence took 22 players through physical exercises at the St. Thomas Aquinas School park in Accra.
The players which includes Ghana Premier League best player Latif Blessing, will continue their preliminary training sessions on Thursday and will end its non residential training on January 1, 2017.
Coach Avram Grant is expected to name his final squad for the tournament on Saturday December 31 before the team departs for UAE where they will have a 12-day pre tournament training.
The Black Stars will face Egypt, Uganda and Mali in the group stage of the competition which will kick off on January 14.
