Ghana’s sports minister honorable Nii Lantey Vanderpuije reckons Black stars abysmal start to the Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers is as to the result of Kwadwo Asamoah’s absence in the team.
Nii Lante speaking to Viasat 1 TV underscored the return of the dynamic Juventus midfielder will be a boast for the stars to secure a ticket for a fourth successive World Cup appearance.
”With the return of Kwadwo Asamoah and Asamoah Gyan in the next match. I think the absence of Kwadwo Asamoah is one of the reasons why we having the difficulties. He’s a game changer, he’s been magnificent in all our World Cup qualifying matches” Said Nii Lante.
”Him coming back into the team, let’s pray injury does not affect any of our regular stars, we should be able to qualify to the World Cup.” He added.
The last time injury prone Asamoah made an appearance for Black stars dates back 2014 at the Brazil World Cup.
He’s suffered two major injuries in the last 24 months but looks set to feature for the stars again as he has been earning some minutes recently for his club side after nursing an injury.
