Asante Kotoko Goalie Felix Annan has expressed worry over his side’s failure to qualify to the next phase of the ongoing CAF Confederation Cup competition following the club’s elimination by Congolese side CARA Brazzaville.
The Porcupine Warriors having beaten CARA 1-0 in the first leg in Kumasi courtesy striker Yakuby Mohammed’s penalty failed to walk over their Congolese counterparts in the crucial clash.
CARA beat Kotoko 1-0 in the reverse leg to finish the crunchy clash on a 1-1 aggregate after regulation time but went ahead beat the Ghanaian side 7-6 on penalties.
Coach Steve Pollack was forced to make an early substitution in the first half when he replace injured Saddick Adams with striker Obed Owusu who missed his penalty kick after regulation time.
Goalkeeper Felix Annan expertly converted his penalty and went ahead to make two saves for the Ghanaian side but Kwame Boahene, Obed Owusu and Jackson Owusu missed their spots to give CARA advantage over them.
Annan who could not the team’s disappointment took to his official twitter handle to apologize to the fabulous family and assure them the playing body will continue to work hard to restore the club’s rich history.
