Former Accra Hearts of oak captain, Yaw Amankwa Mireku, is of the view that troubled Asante Kotoko should have honoured the rest of the league matches despite their fatal accident.
Premier League Board (PLB) on Tuesday convened in a meeting to decide whether the league take a break or go on after the incident. It’s was finally agreed that the league will continue excusing Asante Kotoko and WAFA clash on match day 24, and till match day 25 if the Porcupines still looks uncertain to partake in the league.
However, the former Premier League star has shockingly indicated that Kotoko can still played the league because they registered more than 20 players for the league.
“Kotoko should have continued playing the GPL because they registered lots of players for the league, even though we all sympathize with Asante Kotoko their decision in my view is wrong”, Amanklwa was quoted as saying by Sportsnetghana
“As a former player I’m much aware that playing football comes with injuries and kotoko players have even got injuries that have ruled them out of some league games, this explains my position, injuries are part. This could even be advantages to other bench warmers in the club who would have proved their talent and ability,” he concluded.
Asante Kotoko currently have 2 outstanding games (Hearts and WAFA)
