Ghana Premier League champions Wa All Stars and FA Cup winners Bechem United will on Wednesday December 21 know their opponents in next year’s CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively when the draw for the competition is done.
The draw comes off in Cairo, Egypt with 55 teams entering the CAF Champions League whilst the CAF Confederations Cup will have 51 clubs from across the continent.
The preliminary rounds of the Champions League will start in mid-February with the group stages slated for May.
The Champions League next year will be played on a new format with 16 teams drawn into four groups of four clubs playing a mini-league.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the quarterfinals to be played on a knockout basis.
Both All Stars and Bechem United are making the debut in Africa next year in the Champions League and Confederations Cup competition respectively.
