Former sports minister Nii Lantey Vanderpujie has bemoaned the lack of attention the nation gives to the welfare of retired sportsmen in the Country.
In the space of three years the Ghana has lost six of its great sports men with the latest being Coach Fred Osam Duodu and Sam Arday.
Speaking on the floor of parliament on Wednesday, the Odododiodio MP cautioned the nation could lose some more veterans if the needed assistance is not accorded them.
“W need to take care of the welfare of these our senior colleagues and national heroes”
“As we are talking today, i will not be surprise God forbid if the minister comes back tomorrow to tell us that we’ve lost another because the situation of Alhaji Doodo Ankrah,John Eshun,Amadu Akuse, Kwesi Owusu and others are not situations that we need to be enthuse about”
“Sometimes to take care of their medical bills is a problem” he added.
