Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, Francis Oti Akenteng, holds the view that women football in the country has improved and chalked many successes than their male counterparts following recent achievements by the various national women teams.
According to the veteran trainer, the Black Princesses are in the right direction after securing qualification for the upcoming FIFA women’s world cup which will be staged in France.
Though the Princesses have always qualify for tourneys, so they haven’t made any positive impact by conquering the world and says the Ghana Football Association would do everything possible to ensure they perform well at this year’s mundial which starts in August.
Having been able to knock Cameroon out of the world cup qualifier, they world be hoping to better their previous performance at the global.
“Black Princesses, in particular, qualifies all the time but we have failed to make an impact at the world stage, we are always been kicked out at quarter-finals stage,” he said.
He added that once they have been able to mobilize them up to this stage they will make an impact at the world cup.
“I think things are going on well for women football as arranged this year” he added.
