Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich were all active on deadline day. Here are 10 of the biggest deals that took place before the transfer window shut.
United were one of the busiest teams in Europe on deadline day, completing four signings before the end of the day. Among them was former Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani, who joined the Red Devils on a free transfer, while the club also completed deals for Brazil defender Alex Telles and youngsters Facundo Pellistri and Amad Diallo (joining in January).

PSG were also active after announcing the arrivals of Danilo Pereira and Rafinha Alcantara from FC Porto and FC Barcelona, respectively. Rafinha, whose brother Thiago recently joined Liverpool, arrived in Paris on a free transfer, with the deal potentially rising to a figure of around €3 million (R58 million).
Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich re-signed Brazil winger Douglas Costa from Juventus on a season-long loan, and the Bavarians also completed deals for Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who arrived on a free transfer, and French midfielder Bouna Sarr from Olympique Marseille.

Arsenal announced the signing of Ghana star Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid, with Matteo Guendouzi heading out of the club to join Hertha Berlin on loan, Inter Milan landed former Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian’s signature, and Juventus bolstered their attack with the big-money signing of Federico Chiesa from Fiorentina.
