Bechem United star boy, Prince Adu Kwabena, says, he would love to play for Egyptian giants Al Ahly despite appearing on by Zamalek’s radar.
Adu-Kwabena, 16, became defenders nightmare in the suspended 2019-2020 Ghana Premier League, netting eight goals – four behind leading top scorer Victorien Adebayor.
Kwabena, alongside Kotoko’s Mathew Anim Cudjoe and Medeama’s Nana Kofi Babil were the talk of town per the exploits they were churning despite their youthful age.
In an interview with Egyptian news portal Albawaba news, the highly talented Ghana international, revealed although he had an offer from Zamalek, joining their sworn rivals Al Ahly would be a dream come true.
“Yes, they [Zamalek] tried to sign me during the window, I learnt this from Bechem Utd officials who assured me that Zamalek officials submitted an official offer to join them at the beginning of next season,”
“None of them has formally negotiated with me yet, but rather, they contacted the club’s officials and asked them to agree, and so far, I do not know what was agreed between the two parties,”
Prince confessed his love for the record CAF Champions League holders and would prefer a move to the red side of Cairo ahead of the White Knights.
“I prefer playing in Ahly, it has a great history and I love the club on a personal level, especially that they have the best Egyptian and African football stars playing for the red team, which is the first team in the African continent and an honor for any player to wear its shirt.”
He further added he had received offers from other North African sides.
“I got two offers from Tunisian club Esperance and Moroccan club Wydad Casablanca, but only an oral offer. As for Zamalek, they addressed the club officially and I think that it’s the closest I’ll join in the coming season” he concluded.
