The Ivorians scored after the break after Dominique Thiamalé scored on the 50th minute mark.
All attempts to find an equalizer proved futile as the game ended in favor of the tournament hosts.

Ivory Coast are now top of Group A with Burkina Faso set to face Niger in the second group game.
Nigeria will face Mali in the Group B opening game with Senegal also set to take on Togo.
Ghana is using the tournament match as part of its preparations for the 2018 African Women’s Nations Cup tournament as competition hosts.
