Brazilian Ambassador to Russia Antonio Luis Espinola Salgado says Brazil played well against Switzerland in their first match at the FIFA World Cup, but the team could still improve their performance.
The match took place in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don on Sunday and ended in a 1-1 draw.
“The Brazilian national team played well, but certain moments need improving. The Swiss team was great, it deserves respect. We witnessed a magnificent spectacle. It’s my first time in Rostov and I’m enchanted with the city and its beauty,” Saldago told journalists.
Five-time World Cup winners Brazil will play Costa Rica on Friday and Serbia on June 27 in their remaining two Group E fixtures.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup will continue until July 15, with the matches set to be played in 11 cities across Russia.
