Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah has recalled Fenerbahce forward Andre Ayew and brother Jordan Ayew for Ghana’s this month’s AFCON 2019 qualifying clash against Ethiopia to played in Adis Ababa.
The two have not featured for the Black Stars since September 2017 when the Black Stars drew 1-1 with Congo in a World Cup qualifying match in Kumasi.
A close confidant of the Ayew brothers has confirmed that the two players have been handed call ups to make the trip with the Black Stars to Ethiopa in a crucial Group F qualifier in Addis Ababa.
“The two players have been recalled by the Ghana coach and they will return to the national team,” the source told Ghana Sports Online.
Andre Ayew has been in fine shape for Fenebache in the Turkish Super Lig and has scored twice in 11 league games for the Turkish giants.
While, Jordan Ayew has started 7 games and completed 6 for Crystal Palace in the English Premier League this season.
Kwesi Appiah discussed in an interview he was going to recall the brothers after Ghana’s painful 1-0 loss to Kenya in early September.
The official squad for the Ethiopia game will officially be announced this week.
