Enyimba International F.C goalkeeper Fatau Dauda says Ghana are the favourites to top Group F of the 2019 African Cup of Nations after being housed in the same with title holders Cameroon, Guinea Bissau and Benin.
The Black Stars have been pooled in Group F and the 34-year old shot stopper believes the four-time African Champions have what it takes to finish Group F with maximum points ahead of their counterparts.
Insisting that all the other teams are no pushovers, the former Ashgold goalkeeper is aware of the threat posed by Cameroon, Guinea Bissau and Benin but is confident Kwasi Appiah’s team will finish the group as leaders.
”Very well, I think Ghana can top Group F but shouldn’t underrate its competitors because every country that have qualified did so on merit and mean business and coming to the tournament with winning mentality.” he told SportsworldGhana.com in an interview.
Fatau Dauda featured for the Black Stars at the 2013 and 2015 Cup of Nations in South Africa and Equatorial Guinea respectively.
Coach Kwasi Appiah has been tasked by the Ghana Football Association to win Ghana its fifth Cup of Nations title this year in Egypt.
