Head coach of Black Satellites Jimmy Cobblah is confident of securing qualification for the U-20 World Cup ahead of Wednesday’s clash against Senegal.
After recording an emphatic 2-0 victory over Burkina Faso on Monday, the Black Satellites will battle the Young Teranga Lions, who beat Mali 2-0 in the other group game, at the Maradi Stadium.
Both teams are tied on three points at the top of Group B, a win for either side will secure one of Africa’s four tickets for the global showpiece in May/June.
A win for the one-time world champions will ensure their place in the last eight of the competition – which will automatically grant them a slot in the World Cup to be held in Poland.
“As a coach you have to come out with your best and our target in the competition is the make it the World Cup, I want this world than any person in Ghana so I’m praying that they rally behind us,” Cobblah stated on Happy FM.
“I’m assuring Ghanaians that we’ll surely qualify for the World Cup.”
Ghana will wrap up their group stage campaign against Mali on Saturday.
