Alice Kusi and Mavis Owusu both scored a brace as the Black Queens thrashed Togo 6-0 in their second group in the ongoing WAFU Women’s Championship being staged in Cote D’Ivoire.
Former Ghana U17 skipper Mukarama Abdulai shot Ghana into the lead with just a few minutes to end the first half before Kusi scored in the 53rd minute and the 65th minute.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ talismanic midfielder got the fourth goal for Coach Mercy Tagoe’s side with Mavis Owusu scoring a double on the 77th and 85th minute respectively.
The Black Queens now have six points ahead of their final group match against their Ivorian counterparts on Monday to determine who tops the group ahead of the semi finals stage.
Meanwhile, officials of the Ghanaian embassy in Cote D’Ivoire paid a visit to the Black Queens camp on Friday morning before the team left for the match played at the Champroux Stadium.
The delegation from the embassy included Deputy Ambassador Emmanuel Antwi, Counsellor Larry Bimi and First Secretary / Counsellor Grace Baah-Konadu.
