The 2020/21 English Premier League season officially ended on Sunday as Leicester City were beaten at home 4-2 by Tottenham Hotspurs and Ghana’s Daniel Amartey was an unused substitute for the Week 38 encounter.
The team of Amartey finished 5th and this failed to qualify for the prestigious UEFA Champions League next season as they finished the season on a poor note.
But how did the player – who became a source of controversy after throwing away a Chelsea paraphernalia following the FA Cup final last weekend – fared overall this season at the King Power stadium?
It was not a desired season for the former Copenhagen defender was an unused substitute for the last 9 matches of Leicester City in all events.
He was restricted to just 12 appearances in the EPL out of the 38 matches his team contested. In all competitions Amartey appeared in 17 games, scoring one goal in the process.
His total minutes of football this ended campaign stands at 1,140 as he received 3 yellow cards.
His current contract with the Foxes expires 30 June 2022 and it appears the 26-year old Ghanaian might have to look for bigger opportunities elsewhere.
