Asante Kotoko were held to a 1:1 stalemate by Real Tamale United in their Ghana Premier League matchday 8-midweek fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Kotoko had a good opportunity to take the lead before halftime when they were awarded a penalty, but captain Ismail Abdul-Ganiyu hit the post.
Two minutes after recess, Kotoko took the lead through Franck Mbella with a brilliant strike.
The lead lasted until the 71st minute as RTU equalised through their captain David Abagna.
The Porcupine Warriors thought they had won a penalty in the 82nd minute when Sarfo Taylor was held in the box, but referee Aclement Kwame Nkuah was dissatisfied and ignored the player’s protest ending the game one piece.
Asante Kotoko are now winless in their last three games, having picked just two out of a possible nine points.
