Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Lamptey was adjudged Man of the Match in his team’s 1-3 come-back win over Dreams FC on Saturday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Lamptey who scored his side’s third goal in the game, was awarded the prestigious prize following his impressive display for the Porcupine Warriors in his first-ever match for the club.
The Porcupine Warriors had to come from a goal down to defeat the Dawu-based club in their first away fixture this season.
The first half of the game produced no goal despite Dreams FC tormenting Asante Kotoko in the early stages of the game.
The tempo of the match changed after break with both teams pushing for the first goal. However, it was the hosts who got the lead in the 64th minute through Black Stars winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku. The 2021 Caf U-20 AFCON best player dribbled the ball delightfully past four Asante Kotoko players before slotting the ball at the back of the net.
Kotoko after going down never gave up as manager Prosper Narteh Ogum made some tactical substitutions to engineer his side’s emphatic win.
Midfielder Mudasiru Salifu pulled parity for the Porcupine Warriors with new boy Isaac Oppong striking brilliantly to give the visitors a 1-2 lead.
Minutes later, Oppong superbly set up former Inter Allies star Richmond Lamptey to score a fine goal, giving Kotoko a commanding 1-1 victory of effortless Dreams FC.
