The CEO of Bibiani Gold Stars Akwasi Adu has sent a strong warning to league leaders Asante Kotoko ahead of the two sides epic Ghana Premier League matchday 3 clash.
Gold Stars haven’t tasted defeat so far in their debut participation in Ghana Premier League. They whipped Berekum Chelsea at home and held Medeama to a 1-1 draw at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa on Tuesday.
The Porcupine Warriors on the other hand, have won all their first two games. They whipped Dreams FC 1-3 at the Accra Sports Stadium in their season opener before returning to the Baba Yara Stadium to humble Bechem United 2-0 last Sunday.
Speaking on Akoma FM, the Miners CEO said: “Everyone who follows Ghana football should check Gold Stars records against the big clubs, we hardly lose,”
He added that: “Gold Stars can’t be overshadowed by Kotoko come Friday at Dun’s Park, we are going to match them and I can assure you that, Gold Stars are going to pick all 3 points.
“Our gate fees for the game will be 50gh and 20gh for VIP and Popular stands respectively. Also, all Covid protocols will be observed, 4000 tickets will be printed so football fans who are interested should be at the stadium on time.” He concluded.
Meanwhile, Gold Stars head coach Michael Osei is confident his outfit will be able to hand Kotoko their first defeat this season when the two teams meet on Friday.
“We’ve noticed that Kotoko have started very well this season. I had the opportunity to watch them last weekend alongside my technical team. We saw that they are very good side but we are also a strong side and our team is jelling very well,” he told Zylofon FM.
“It will be an interesting game and very difficult game but I believe that [we will defeat them]. I don’t want to brag. Let’s wait for Friday and see what happens,” he added.
Quizzed who is the senior in coaching between Micheal Osei and Ogum he, the former replied that they are at level pegging but believes he was a better footballer.
“I think maybe Prosper Ogum Narteh and I are almost at the same level in coaching. He is a good coach just like myself. He has done well for Kotoko so far and you can see I’m also doing my bit with Gold Stars who are only playing in the league for the first time,” Osei said.
“However, in terms of football, I think I was or I’m ahead of him. I was good footballer and everyone who watched me can attest to that fact,” He concluded.
