Asante Kotoko defender Imoro Ibrahim, has been called to replace injured Vitória de Guimarães’ left-back Gideon Mensah in the Black Stars squad to face South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe later this month.
The definitive left-back who was left out of CK Akonnor’s 29-man squad for the two matches, was part of Ibrahim Tanko’s Black Stars B team for the international friendly against Uzbekistan but has now been drafted into the man Black Stars team who will travel to South Africa later this week.
Gideon Mensah made the final 29-man squad but only lasted 45 minutes in Vitória Guimarães’ 4-2 loss to Gil Vicente in the Portuguese Primera Liga last weekend and his recovery has been late, making him not able to travel to Ghana for the two games.
Ghana will face South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers on March 25 and 29 respectively.
