Belgian-born winger Jeremy Doku has told Ghana head coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor that he is not in a rush to honour an invitation to feature for Ghana’s senior national team- Black Stars.
The former Black Stars captain met Belgium based Ghanaian players Francis Amuzu, Jeremy Doku and Elisha Owusu as part of his monitoring works in Europe before the Novel Covid-19 pandemic.
Akonnor visited the trio after the league match between RSC Anderlecht and KAA Gent, where all three featured.
Though both Doku and Amuzu have represented Belgium at the youth level, Akonnor is trying to convince them to represent the West African nation.
According to Doku, he told the coach he will need time to make the right decision and that he wouldn’t be in a rush to take any decision regarding his Black Stars call-up.
“I have made it clear to him I need time to make the right decision,” Doku said in a recent interview transcribed by SPORTSworldGhana.com.
Doku is rated as one of the best youth players in the Belgian Pro League following his outstanding display for RSC Anderlecht.
