Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has named AmaZulu defender Tercious Malepe as a late replacement for the injured Sifiso Hlanti ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe.
The Kaizer Chiefs defender picked up an Achilles injury during a training session last week that could potentially rule him out for the rest of the season.
Broos says it’s up to Malepe and other players selected to the squad to raise their hands for the clash against Zimbabwe at FNB Stadium.
“Also as with Mvala, they’re two players who I could need for a game such as against Ghana for example,” Broos said.
“So no they are not there, but there will be others and it’s up to them if they get their chances to take them.
Bafana Bafana could welcome midfielder Keagan Dolly back into the starting lineup for the clash against Zimbabwe this week after the attacker rediscovered the form that saw him score a brace during the Soweto Derby.
