Nigeria national team head coach Augustine Eguavoen has handed a late invitation to Lorient enforcer Innocent Bonke as a replacement for Wilfried Ndidi.
Ndidi has been ruled out of the impending 2022 world cup play off game with Ghana after suffering an injury in Leicester’s Europa League game against Rennes last week and his place will be taken by Bonke.
The Lorient star is expected to arrive in Abuja this morning before the team travels to Ghana on Wednesday for the impending first leg game on March 25.
This is Bonke’s third call up after being invited for the first time in September last year where he played full throttle in Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Cape Verde in the Group stages of the world cup qualifiers.
