Former Ghana International John Paintsil has called for support for the Black Stars team, insisting they will surely deliver in the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
According to the former Fulham right-back, Charles Akonnor and his boys have the quality to deliver as with support from Ghanaians.
The Black Stars who won 1-0 against Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium last Friday in the qualifiers, went ahead to suffer a 1-0 defeat to the Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the FNB Stadium on Monday.
The team has since come under massive criticism following their uninspiring performance in the qualifiers with Ghanaians calling for the sacking of gaffer Charles Akonnor.
The 47-year-old has come under pressure in recent times due to his call ups and style of play.
However, Paintsil who made the Black Stars right-back position his bonafide property during his playing days, maintains the boys will soon come good.
“Let’s give the boys the maximum support, they will deliver”, Paintsil wrote on Twitter.

The former Ghana captain was appointed as the coach for the Black Stars in 2020, replacing Kwasi Appiah on a two-year deal. He was deputy to Coach Appiah before being handed the mandate to coach the team.
