The Ghana Football Association has officially unveiled the fixture list for the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, with fans eagerly anticipating an early showdown between giants Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Matchday 5.
This year’s edition of the “Super Clash” will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium, bringing together the two most successful clubs in Ghanaian football history. The early timing of the clash adds to the excitement, as both teams aim to bounce back from disappointing campaigns last season.
Hearts of Oak, now under the guidance of coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani and with the technical support of Special Advisor Aboubakar Ouattara, will open their campaign at home against league newcomers Hohoe United. The Phobians are determined to avoid early setbacks as they push for a title challenge.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko—fresh off their Toyota Cup and President’s Cup triumphs—begin their season away to Berekum Chelsea, a tricky venue where they dropped vital points last year. Head coach Karim Zito will be aiming for a strong start as the Porcupine Warriors prepare for both domestic and continental competitions.
The league kicks off on the weekend of September 12, 2025, and will conclude on May 24, 2026, just ahead of the FIFA World Cup. But long before then, Ghanaian football lovers will have their eyes on the Accra Sports Stadium, where the country’s fiercest football rivalry takes center stage.
