Former Ghana striker, Augustine Ahinful believes Black Stars cannot afford to lose against Chad.
After failing to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament for the first time in two decades, the Black Stars will regroup for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The four-time African champions will host Chad in the Matchday five games at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21.
Kick-off for the game is scheduled at 19:00 GMT.
After the team endured a torrid 2024, Ahinful believes the Black Stars cannot afford to lose against Chad.
“Black Stars cannot afford to lose against Chad on Friday,” he told Asempa FM as quoted by Ghana Soccer net
Ghana will fly to Morocco to play Madagascar on Monday, March 24 in the Matchday six games.
Meanwhile, striker Inaki Williams has assured Black Stars fans that he will find the net against Chad in Friday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Despite his impressive form in La Liga, Williams has struggled to replicate his club success on the international stage since making his Ghana debut in September 2022 against Brazil.
The 30-year-old has scored just once in 17 appearances for the Black Stars—his only goal coming in a 1-0 win over Madagascar in November 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
