The London club has proposed for 55 people to go jobless at the club following the impact of the Covid-19.
Arsenal has been heavily linked to the Ghana international Thomas Partey who appeared in 35 La Liga matches this season for Atletico Madrid scoring three times but with this austerity measures put in place it makes the transfer hangs in the balance.
“Our aim has been to protect the jobs and base salaries of our people for as long as we possibly can. Unfortunately, we have now come to the point where we are proposing 55 redundancies.” the club said in a statement on their website.
Following this announcement it remains to be seen how Arsenal recruit new players who may command high transfer fees ahead of the new season to come.
