FIFA Women’s U-20 WC qualifier: Ghana beat Uganda in first leg clash

The Black Princesses of Ghana picked an important 1:2 away victory against the Crested Cranes of Uganda on Saturday afternoon in the first leg clash of the Fifa U-20 women’s world cup qualifiers.

Coach Ben Forkuo, named a chuck of the players who played against Zambia in starting line-up.

Ampem Darkoa’s Abena Anoma Opoku was also handed a starting role together with Hasaacas Ladies’ attacker Doris Boaduwaa.

The Princesses took the lead in the 20th-minute mark through striker Salamatu Abdulai as the first half ended 1:0 in favour of Ghana.

Back from the break, Grace Anima struck in the 48th minute when she curled in a freekick to give the Black Princesses a 0:2 lead.

The Ghanaian team kept pushing for more goals to make the reverse leg an easy task.

However, the Ugandan captain Fauzia Najjemba pulled one back through a spot kick in the 83 as the full 90 minutes ended 1:2 advantaged Ghana.
