Tanzania Premier League giants Simba Sports Club are close to signing former Inter Allies star striker Victorien Adje Adebayor, according ducorsports.com.

Simba coach Pablo Franco has been keeping a close eye on Adebayor ever since the Nigerien’s permanent move to ENPPI from HB Koge collapsed in December 2021.

Adebayor subsequently joined Union Sportive de la Gendarmerie Nationale (USGN) that summer and has scored nine goals in 15 appearances for the Blues.

Simba were thinking about making a move during the last summer window but brought in Senegalese Pape Sakho instead.

It is understood a fee has been agreed in principle, with only the final details remaining to be completed.

Adebayor rejoined USGN from Belgian side HB Koge following the collapse of his intended permanent move to Egyptian side ENNPI.

The 25-year-old started his career in 2014 at 18 years of age with AS Douanes in his home country, before moving to Europe three years later to sign for France’s US Raon l’Etape.

However, his stay in France was cut short and he subsequently returned to Niger with USGN two months later. Six months later he moved abroad once again, this time to Ghana where he plied his trade with Benchem United.

The Niger international was snapped by Inter Allies and wowed football loving fans who accompanied his elegance and artistry with applause.

He was signed by Danish side Hoge  from Inter Allies owing to his outstanding performances in the Ghanaian domestic top-flight.
