Andreas Christensen has already decided his future. He wants to play at the Camp Nou in the coming season and his agents have been acting quickly to make this happen.
According to the expert journalist in all things Barcelona, Gerard Moreno, Christensen has half of the work already done. On Monday he passed his medical and therefore only his signature remains.
After passing the medical, which is always a right of passage for a new signing, Christensen met with Mateu Alemany and Jordi Cruyff in London to talk through his contract.
The idea is that his signing can be secured by next week. His represenatives will be flying to Barcelona to go through the legalities and details of the contract.
Fabrizio Romano, transfer specialist, has also confirmed that there will be a meeting between Barca and Christensen’s agents next week. He has added that the footballer has turned down various renewal offers from his current club Chelsea.
Bayern are also interested in Christensen, but Barca’s offer is better than that of the Bavarians and so the Dane has decided that Barcelona is the club for him.
Securing Christensen’s signature could cause Barca a slight headache. This is because Araujo is waiting to renew his contract at the club and he could use Christensen’s salary as a way of achieving a better deal for himself during negotiations. If he is unable to achieve this, he could be on his way out.
