Asante Kotoko Communication and Brands Manager David Obeng Nayrako, has rejected claims suggesting that attacker Stephen Amankonah has fallen out with head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Speaking on Oyerepa’s Highway Sports, Obeng Nyarko insisted that the player is still in the plans of the coach and will soon be back on the pitch once the gaffer decides to feature him in the subsequent league games.

Reports in the media claimed the former Berekum Chelsea star has not been featured in the Porcupine Warriors recent games after he disrespected the the club’s head coach.

However, Obeng Nyarko says, “Amankona has no problem with the coach. The Prosper I know is a disciplinarian, he’s a psychologist, he always makes sure the right system and measures are in place for every player to adapt,”

Amankona, 21, has made eight caps for Asante Kotoko so far this campaign.

Asante Kotoko currently leads the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League standings with 41 points after playing 19 games. They host debutants Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in their matchday20 encounter.

With Cameroonian striker Frank Etouga Mbella leading the top scorers chart with 13 goals, he would be hoping to again score to extend the one goal gap between him and Aduana Stars forward Bright Adjei.
