He has played for Belgium from Under 20 to senior level
Odoi made his Belgian Under 20 appearance on March 21, 2008 against Slovakia and in 2009 he was called to the Under 21. His first senior national team call up was in February 2011 but did not play, he finally made his debut in a 2-2 draw with Montenegro in a friendly game on March 25, 2012
He Previously wanted to play for Ghana but later changed his mind
In 2014, Odoi was eager to play for Ghana as he stated that he is ever ready to feature for the West African country but he was never called and in October 2018, he rescinded his decision.
Odoi could not get a call up into the Belgian national team and he had almost given up on both countries before an invite from Ghana came in March 2022.
Odoi holds Masters Degree in Physical Education
Aside football, Odoi is also an academician as he holds a Masters Degree in Physical Education with very high grades.
He teaches the subject also in schools at his leisure time.
His best friend is Napoli star Dries Mertens
Odoi has known Dries Mertens since the age of five and they both grew up in the same neighborhood in Leuven and are great friends.
During their formative years, they both played in the same juvenile team and Odoi was suspended a week for a bad tackle on Mertens. He never told his mother about it.
